ExerSocks featured on The Oprah Show

The Crescent Moon Yoga ExerSocks are a staple in Martha Stewart's wardrobe.  Martha has been a fan of the this non-slip, reinforced sock for years.

Better know as the "grippy sock" to those who practice yoga, pilates or barre method workouts, the ExerSock also doubles as a house slipper for safe cruising on slippery tile or hardwood floors, which peeked Martha's initial interest in 2003.

Watch Martha on The Oprah Show tomorrow, October 5th at 4PM EST.  Get tips and new ideas on party themes, food and drinks, crafts, as well as take a sneek peek through Martha's Maine Estate.

Watch for the CMY ExerSocks throughout the show :)

Check out CrescentMoonYoga
for more yoga, pilates and barre method apparel and accessories.

There ARE Benefits from Yawning

This is all refreshing news to my ears...I've been yawning all day :)

The Benefits of Yawning

Then next time you get caught in a yawn, don't feel bad. According to Patt Lind-Kyle, author of Heal Your Mind, Rewire Your Brain, yawing isn't rude. It is one of the body's best methods of rejuvinating the brain.

When you yawn, you are stimulating a neural area of the brain that plays a major role in being more conscious and self-reflective, aiding in relaxation and alertness.

Yawing also helps balance and regulate temperature and metabolism as well as helping to regulate your body's circadiam rhythms.

Yawing can lift your mood. When you yawn, your dopaine levels rise. This activates oxytocin, a pleasure and relationship bonding chemical. The more these chemicals are activated the more frequently you yawn.

And yes, yawning is contagious because it triggers the mirror neurons in the brain that literally prompt you to reflect another person's behavior.

The next time you yawn enjoy it. It is one of your body's coolest tricks!

Plan vs. Planning

"Plans are nothing; planning is everything”
- Dwight D. Eisenhower
When asked, in a recent survey of over one thousand small business owners Do you have a marketing plan? Seventy percent said they did not; of the thirty percent that said they did only three percent said that it was written down and committed to paper. Shocking!
There have been so many quotes by famous people on the importance of planning and Former President Eisenhower's words echo what I believe to be the root cause of many company failures.
When we review the words, the word PLAN is a statement, whereas PLANNING is actionable and a commitment... so where are you!
'I plan to go on a trip, I plan to exercise, I plan to eat better, I plan to make more calls or increase my margins' these are statements. Conversely, 'I am planning a trip, I am planning an exercise program, I am planning a new diet regiment, I am planning 10 cold calls for this week and mapping out a plan to increase my margins'... now you’re putting plans into action.
Without a plan you will ultimately fail or at least flounder... in every facet of your life; commit to a plan of action, write it down. This commitment holds you accountable for your actions. Doing this you help put yourself on the road of success ~ now that you're in the driver's seat.
Make it happen!

That act of giving...

I wish more of us practiced it....

We can offer help and love to those who need it, we can help feed the hungry, we can rescue animals, we can clean up the earth one piece of trash at a time, we can donate to organizations, we can entertain the elderly at old folk homes, we can save lives...we can...all because we choose to give.

Isn't that amazing!?
